Okay, so you guys know I have been working on some shutter projects. This is one of my favorites so far.
So easy but yet practical. This is my back porch. I put an old lamp inside my shutter "box"
and placed a shutter on top, put a few plants on top of that and there you have it. A table/shutter/lamp.
Hinges attach it together. Its pretty sturdy.
I love having this by the back door so we can see at night.
This is what the inside will look like. I actually moved this one beside the outlet so I can easily
plug and unplug my night light. I picked up an old lamp at the thrift store yesterday
for a dollar, not this one but you get the idea.
This is what it looks like put together.
Its not very bright but its perfect to light the way to the bathroom.
The light coming down out of the slats is beautiful.
I made a tri-fold one for my 7 year olds bathroom/and our washroom.
(The washroom is still a work in progress!)
I'm still working on several more shutter projects.
I have one more lamp I want to share with you but I need to make it a hat :)
More to come!

wow, nice one do you have to keep taking the top of to plug it in?
I have them beside the outlet for easy access. It doesn't look bad, no more so than a lamp being plugged in. But I photographed them hiding the outlet so the cord wouldn't be in the picture ;) You could do it either way.
Wow! What a fantastic idea! I love it. :-)
I absolutely love how this looks! Reminds me of a doll house :-).
I love these, what a great idea...
That's so cool!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :D
that's a great way to re-purpose those shutters! you ROCK!
very very pretty Sherry! Thanks for sharing :) Following along!
Hi Sherry, I just found your blog and had to tell you what a great idea that shutter lamp is. I never would have thought of doing that. I have a suggestion that might help, though. Maybe you could attach a timer that is not light sensored and then you wouldn't have to plug and unplug. There might be some reason that I don't know about that you haven't done that. Anyway, it is really cute. I have a party called Cozy Your Home and this would be a perfect addition to it. Come on over and join in if you can. I'm sure your lamp would be a big hit.------- Shannon
Wow! I love it! Awesome job!
That is awesome!

What a great idea! Have you thought about adding a timer to your lamp so that you don't have to plug it in every night? I have timers on different lamps all over my house. I can't stand to have a dark corner, so the timers work great to turn all of the lamps off and on for lazy me.
I love your shutter lamps, they are so nice!
Hugs, Cindy
