I wanted to let you know that I'm linking up with Cozy Home Scenes to share my lamp ideas.
I decided to add shutters to lighten up and add interest to a few areas.
I decided to add shutters to lighten up and add interest to a few areas.
I have to look at things a while to figure out if I like them.
Here today, gone tomorrow, I love trying new things in decorating.
This dark desk (I would love to paint it someday) looks better to me with the shutters in the background.
It really lightened up this dark desk in my sunny yellow room.
This is the back of my stove. The microwave fits snuggly above this shutter.
Hung with 2 tiny nails, its the perfect length for the stove.
I spared you the bottom of my lovely microwave ;)
I added these shutters to my picture mirror.
I like the way they play off of my white stars nearby.
The little sign above the mirror (that you cannot see) is "Its a wonderful life."
Now, I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
But I love these shutters beside my treadmill. They hide a multitude of cords!
They remind me of a picket fence, makes me happy when I walk in my room.
Now, in a month or two, it may begin to look like clutter to me, but for now, I like them.
These are beside my bay window. I placed the shutters on both sides.
I've always wanted to put something on these little side walls but never could figure out what.
I'm still "looking" at these to see if they will stay or not. They really lighten up my dark mantel.
I have always struggled with decorating my mantel. What to put, what looks right???
I do like the way they play off the white french doors.
The euculyptis wreath was sort of invisible before I put the shutters behind them.
I'm still playing around with the shutters.
Its been a lot of fun for me and I still have some more ideas.
If you guys have any - Please share them!

Love shutters! You have some great ideas!
Sherry, it's me again thanking you for joining my party. I am now following you so you will definitely hear from me again. I love what you do with shutters. Your home is lovely. See you later------Shannon
Your ideas are so neat!
Is that Katie's music on the piano? It looks neat!
cute!! and i love the new header.(:
I love them on the mantel...looks great.
Wow! Great uses of the shutters! I need a few to cover some cords, too!
Wow, Sherry! I love how you used the shutters above the mantel! It really gives a light, bright pop in every place you put them! Isn't it fun to update things in an inexpensive way? Tons of bang for you buck here! I used shutters to hide cords in the hubs office, until I was able to re-arrange and hide the cords better. I think it looks fab by your treadmill!
Have you seen Savvy Southern Style on blogger? She paints furniture like nobody's business, and uses Annie Sloan Chalk paint. If you have not been to her blog, go take a look. She does a great job transforming pieces.
LOVE your new header! It looks so pretty! :-)

Hey Sherry,
My favorite one is your mantel. I'm new to your blog and will have to catch up. I love, love, love your home page.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm new at this, especially the replying. Am I supposed to reply on your blog or after your comments. I'll figure it out one day and hope everyone will be patient with me.
nice! i love the mantel and desk! not too sure about behind the stove though...won't it get greasy? anyway, you are so creative!
I love all of your shutters! Lucky you to have so many to play with. You've thought of some really clever and pretty ways to use them. Oh - and for what it's worth, I think they're perfect on top of your mantle!
So far I like it behind the stove Mare. We don't fry stuff in the house, we fry out on the porch. But even if it did get dirty, its hanging on two little nails, easy to take down and wipe off. Its paint, just like the wall ;) So its pretty easy to clean.
Oh, my gosh Sherry, I'm just seeing this, it's gorgeous, who would have thought to do something like this!
