I made a small shutter lamp to go by the fireplace. The little wall has an outlet - perfect!
My friend Suzy at Worthing Court suggested that I use a timer so the lamps would come on automatically.
Genius! Thank you Suzy!
I had to figure out how to display my shutter lamp without exposing the inside as you walk by.
Not attractive, and I didn't have anything to place on top.
With my bee's a buzzing, I thought of using the top off of one of my photo boxes.
I love to use whatever I have on hand.
It fit perfectly. I used a ruler to draw a straight line, cut it and tada... a top for my lamp.
I decided to make a bottom too.
I didn't love the green, it didn't really go with my decor.
I'm sure you could modge podge, add fabric, ribbon or whatever you like.
I wanted something quick so I painted them.
I painted them first with an antique white, then I did a watered down white paint and brushed
some of that on top of the antique color.I was trying to get it to some kind of off white color so the
caps would blend in with the shutter.
I'm happy with the result. A little night light in the living room.

Another great creation! I love that you used a box. I was also thinking that you should put them on timers! Good call!!

Love it...I have a shutter hanging on my wall in my bedroom, that has little drawer pulls screwed on it and that's where I hang my necklaces.
I guess you know I love it, Sherry. I'm loving all of your shutter ideas! Glad you liked the timer idea too.
