A new mantel above the TV and paint color reveal.

This is the before picture. I had this hanging here for a long time. It was definitely time for a change.

I decided to put this mantel above our TV.  Realistically, the television is usually the focal point of the room.

I got this mirror for around $4.00 at Salvation Army. It was bad! I looked at it for several weeks before I bought it. I painted it black first, didn't like it and then painted it white and loved it. The plate, the star, the basket - all under $1.00 - The vase on the right, from Goodwill, was once yellow and blue, I painted it with matte white paint. The one on the left, I bought at a neighbors yard sale over 15 years ago. It has a huge bowl that goes with it. The frame is from Walmart, it was brown and I painted it black. The wreath is from Goodwill. It travels from place to place in my house. I used baby clothespins to attach the real maple leaves to this twine banner. The leaves almost look like balls of leaves as they have dried and become dimensional. I added fresh leaves to the greenery. When I change this over to Christmas, I'm guessing that I will keep the mirror and the two vases and change up the rest. We will see.

A few more days of fall celebration and then the Christmas decor begins.

And by the way, as you can see for yourself, my new paint color is WHITE. More about that later :)
